Withdrawal of Halifax Digital Access

Scheduled for Nov 3, 01:00 UTC  -  Nov 4, 02:00 UTC

Scheduled

Access to the Halifax Mobile Banking App and Online Banking is scheduled to be withdrawn on 3 November 2026. Should this date change, we will provide a further update.

Following the withdrawal of Halifax digital access for all customers, we will no longer support the creation of new Halifax Open Banking consents. Any requests to create a new Halifax consent will therefore be rejected.

This change is intended to ensure that unsupported journeys fail at the point of consent creation, rather than after a customer has been redirected to Halifax for authentication that is no longer available. This approach will help reduce unnecessary redirects and minimise friction for both customers and TPPs.
Halifax customers must select Lloyds for the creation of new Open Banking consents.

Existing long-lived Halifax Open Banking consents will remain valid and continue to be serviced.

Requests to create a new Halifax Open Banking consent after 3 November 2026 will be rejected and will return a 404 Not Found response with the message: "Halifax URL not supported".

Requests to re-authenticate an existing Halifax consent will also return the same 404 error, as the Halifax authentication journey will no longer be available.
