New PSD2 interface for Commerzbank
Commerzbank Germany is enhancing its services by moving from the current PSD2 interface to a dedicated XS2A interface. To support this transition, Mastercard are implementing changes that will go live on 24 and 25 March 2026.
While there will be no change in the way you use our API endpoints, you will observe differences in request behaviour when interacting with Commerzbank over this period as validity of consents and PaymentIDs will be impacted.

For Account Information Services
Consents: All existing active consents for DE_Commerzbank will expire on from 12.00 CET on 25 March 2026.
Payment Service Users (PSUs) must re-establish consent through a supervised login with DE_Commerzbank.

For Payment Initiation Services
Payment IDs: Existing Payment IDs will not be carried over onto the new Commerzbank interface.
Mastercard will stop access to new Payment Initiation requests on Commerzbank for a 24 hour period starting 12:00 CET 24 March. This closure window will allow all outstanding payments in flight to complete and give 24 hours for final payment status to be collected.
From 12:00 CET 25 March, payment initiation will be re-started for Commerzbank using their new interface. At this point previous Payment IDs will not be valid for payment status requests.

For Both Services
Provider ID: The DE_Commerzbank Provider ID will remain unchanged.

For further information or assistance regarding these updates, please contact your account manager.
