Nordea is making the creditor name a mandatory field for account-to-account transfers in Denmark.
This means that the destination.name field will become mandatory in our API for DK_Nordea and DK_NordeaErhverv. The field accepts up to 70 characters. Supported characters include: a–z, A–Z, 0–9, Scandinavian letters (å, ä, ö, æ, ø and uppercase variants), common punctuation (. , / ? : ( ) - + '), and whitespace. Field must not start with a whitespace.
The field will become mandatory in our systems in November, with the exact date provided in a later update.
From 11 November 2026, payment initiation requests to Nordea Denmark without destination.name will be rejected.
This also applies to payments executed on or after 11 November 2026, even if they are submitted before that date. A future-dated payment created today without a creditor name will fail at execution time if its execution date falls on or after 11 November 2026.
